who is DJ BOUZY?
Yucef Bouzina, a Bay Area native (San Jose) currently based in Southern California (San Diego) brings a tasteful blend of underground left-field melodic and heavy electronic music production. With over 8 years of production experience and 2 years of DJing in a professional club setting, the DJ BOUZY project aims to bring ambitious, genre-blending, creative authenticity into the modern electronic music landscape. Debuting under the alias “narasu”, SECRET SOUNDS VOL. 1, self-released at 17 years old in 2021, garnered a notable wave of support, amassing thousands of streams across platforms and a niche dedicated following. Following a 2 year creative hiatus and subsequent rebranding, DJ BOUZY was formed at the start of 2024 with a keen mission in mind: finishing the follow-up to SECRET SOUNDS VOL 1. The tracks present on VOL. 2 are inspired by a series of lived experience and live performances. From Singapore, to Algeria, to the San Diego underground, in every set, DJ BOUZY seeks to explore and refine this creative vision. This ethos marked the inception of #SUPEROPENFORMAT: a blend of high-energy club music with a nostalgic, underrepresented side of electronic music.
